• YouTube is an online video streaming service that allows anyone to view and share videos that have been uploaded by their members.
  • It's free! Just sign up, create an account, and you're ready to broadcast.
  • To become a member of YouTube, go to the "Signup" page, choose a username and password, and enter your information. Then click the "Sign Up" button and you're done. Be sure to follow up with the verification email that You Tube sends to you after you sign up.
    • Confirming your email address is required to perform many actions on YouTube, like uploading videos and posting comments.
        New members can follow the steps below to confirm your email:

        1. Once you've created your username in the Sign Up page, they'll send a confirmation email to the address you entered.
        2. Click the 'Confirm your email address' link within that email. You can also copy and paste the provided link into your browser if you prefer.
        3. You're done! You'll be directed to a confirmation page, and you can immediately begin exploring the site!
        If you signed up prior to February 2007 and have not yet confirmed your email address, follow these steps:
        1. Go to the Confirm Email page.
        2. Enter the email addresss you would like to use as your contact for YouTube. Please enter the email address you used when you joined.
        3. Click the "Submit" button.
        4. Check your email for a message from YouTube and click the link in the email to complete the confirmation process.

        If you don't receive the confirmation email within a few minutes, be sure to check your spam folder to make sure it wasn't misfiled.

  • Once you've finished editing your video, made sure it's less than 10 minutes, smaller than 100MB, and in an acceptable format, you're ready to upload it.

    1. Click "Upload Videos" in the upper-right-hand corner of any YouTube page.
    2. Enter as much information about your video as possible, including:
      1. Title: Your First Name Lundon's Bridge Audition
      2. Description: (include Lundon's Bridge Audition Video in the description)
      3. Tags: Lundon's Bridge and the three keys, Audition, your first name
      4. Category: Entertainment Category.
      The more information you include, the easier it is for users to find your video!
    3. Set your video to Public.
    4. Click the "Upload a Video" button.
    5. In the next window, click the "Browse" button to browse for the video file. Select the file you want to upload.
    6. Click the "Upload Video" button.
    It can take from a couple minutes to an hour for your video to upload to YouTube.

    If you're receiving an error with your Upload, you might want to make sure you're attempting to upload a file that's recognized by YouTube. YouTube accepts video files from most digital cameras and camcorders, and cell phones in the .AVI, .MOV, .WMV, and .MPG file formats.

  • After your video has been uploaded and processed on You Tube look for the link to your video. It's on the 'My Videos' page in a box that says URL. This link needs to be copied and sent to us. You can lean more about that on our Audition Checklist Page.
